Pune/Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was given a tearful farewell in Baramati on Thursday. Slogans of “Ajit Dada Amar Rahe” were raised on the occasion. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with Nitin Gadkari, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, Uddhav Thackeray, and Raj Thackeray, along with numerous prominent figures, arrived in Baramati to bid him a final farewell. All paid tribute to Ajit Pawar. While the Pawar family was shocked by the sudden demise of Ajit Dada, who served as Maharashtra’s six-time Deputy CM, another unfortunate coincidence has emerged. Ajit Pawar passed away at the age of 66. His total lifespan was 66 years, 6 days, and 6 months.

Parth Pawar shouldering the responsibility
While the death of his grandfather is a major shock for Ajit Pawar’s family, it is also expected to have an impact on Maharashtra politics. It’s a twist of fate that Ajit Pawar served as Deputy Chief Minister six times and passed away at the age of 66 years, 6 months, and 6 days. A tragic and painful accident took him away forever. Ajit Pawar lost his father very early in his own life. His father, Anantrao Pawar, died in 1988 when he was about 28 years old. Ajit Pawar’s eldest son, Parth Pawar, is now 36 years old. After Ajit Pawar’s untimely demise, the responsibility of the family has fallen on his shoulders. Ajit Pawar’s brother is Srinivas Pawar. He also had a sister. Who died in 2017.

Parth Pawar has contested elections

Ajit Pawar’s elder son, Parth Pawar, lit the funeral pyre. His younger brother, Jai, was also present. Ajit Pawar’s brother’s son, Yugendra, and his uncle’s son, Rohit Pawar, were also present. Parth Pawar contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections but lost from Madha. Since then, both of Ajit Pawar’s sons have been away from politics. After parting ways with Sharad Pawar in July 2023, Ajit Pawar fielded Supriya Sule from Baramati in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but she lost. Subsequently, Sunetra Pawar, representing the Ajit Pawar-led NCP, went to the Rajya Sabha.
