The highly anticipated trailer for Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming film, Ulajh, has been unveiled. In this cinematic venture, Janhvi essays the role of Suhana Bhatia, the youngest deputy high commissioner in the Indian Foreign Services.
However, her ascent to this prestigious position is met with skepticism, with many attributing it to “nepotism.” A palpable tension is introduced in the trailer as Roshan Mathew’s character, at a social gathering, scathingly remarks, “Surname ke alava iske paas aur hai kya?” [What else does she have besides her surname?]
The narrative intensifies as the trailer hints at a clandestine “leak” within the system. In a dramatic turn of events, Gulshan Devaiah’s character kidnaps Janhvi, demanding certain “documents” from her. Amidst this turmoil, the Indian embassy in London becomes a fortress, with strict orders forbidding anyone from exiting until the infiltrator is identified. The suspense escalates as Janhvi’s absence stretches to a full day. A subsequent explosion exacerbates the situation, leading Roshan to accuse Janhvi of orchestrating the chaos. Meiyang Chang’s character further brands her as a “spy” and a “deshdrohi”.
As the trailer draws to a close, Suhana Bhatia, portrayed by Janhvi, proclaims her status as a scapegoat. With resolute defiance, she asserts, “Now, this goat will eat the lion.” Junglee Pictures, the production house, shared the trailer on Instagram, cryptically captioning it, “Everyone has a story. Every story has secrets. Every secret is a trap. Iss Ulajh ko suljhana is not going to be easy.”
