
The police have sent the third summons to comedian Kunal Kamra in the parody song case on Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. He has been asked to appear for questioning at Khar Police Station on April 5. Earlier, the police had sent 2 summonses to Kamra.
On the other hand, Kunal Kamra appeared in the Madras High Court on Tuesday. He claimed that the police are trying to arrest him, so he should be given transit anticipatory bail. While hearing the case, Justice Sundar Mohan granted transit anticipatory bail to Kamra.
Earlier on March 28, the High Court had granted Kamra anticipatory bail till April 7. Kamra shared a post on the social media platform X on Tuesday. Its title was – ‘Step-by-step guide to finish an artist’. Kamra wrote-

Kamra is currently in Tamil Nadu. Kamra did a parody in a stand-up comedy show, in which Shinde was called a traitor. An FIR has been registered against him in the Khar police station in Mumbai. In this case, the police have sent him the third summons. Earlier on March 31, Mumbai Police reached Kamra’s house in Shivaji Park.
Police called the banker who went to the show as a witness
Mumbai Police has sent a summons to a banker who went to Kunal Kamra’s show as a witness. However, the police said that his immediate presence is not necessary.
According to reports, the banker went on vacation till April 6. But due to the notice, the banker had to cancel the trip and return on March 31 (Monday).
On this, Kamra expressed regret on social media about the trouble caused to the banker.
He said Please forgive me for the inconvenience caused to you by my participation in the show.
Kunal told the banker on social media that you should email me so that I can plan a vacation for you anywhere in India.
Three cases were registered at different places
Three new cases were registered against stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra at Khar Police Station in Mumbai. These cases are related to the controversial statement given about Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. According to the information given by Mumbai Police on March 29, the first complaint was filed by the mayor of Jalgaon, while the remaining 1-1 cases have been filed by two different businessmen of Nashik.
In this case, the Mumbai Police has issued 2 summons to question Kunal Kamra. At the same time, the notice of breach of privilege against Kamra has also been accepted in the Maharashtra Legislative Council.

The controversy started with calling Shinde a traitor
The 36-year-old stand-up comedian had made a sarcastic remark on Shinde’s political career in his show. Kamra had parodied a song from the film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, in which Shinde was called a traitor. He had also commented in a funny tone on the division between Shiv Sena and NCP through the song.
The Habitat Comedy Club in Mumbai’s Khar neighborhood was destroyed on the evening of March 23 by members of the Shiv Sena Shinde branch following the release of Kamra’s film. Shinde said, ‘This same person (Kamra) had commented on the Supreme Court, the Prime Minister, Arnab Goswami, and some industrialists. This is not freedom of expression. This is working for someone.’
Meanwhile, Kunal Kamra said that he will not apologize for his controversial remarks about Shinde and criticized the vandalism at the location in Mumbai where the comedy show was recorded.
