In June 2023, Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni were blessed with their first child, a baby girl named Klin Kaara.
Recently, Upasana candidly shared the journey of parenthood she and Ram Charan embarked upon.
Speaking to ETimes, she delved into the trials she faced after welcoming Klin Kaara and lauded Ram Charan’s unwavering support during her battle with postpartum depression. She expressed gratitude for his decision to reside with her at her parents’ abode during her darkest moments.
“My strength has come from Ram Charan,” revealed Upasana. “He moved in with me at my parents’ house when I was struggling with postpartum depression, taking on the role of my confidant. I acknowledge that every mother’s journey differs, underscoring the importance of prioritizing one’s well-being and seeking professional aid when necessary.”
She further reflected on the profound impact of Ram Charan’s affectionate care and active involvement in nurturing Klin Kaara, remarking on the striking resemblance between the father and daughter. “She’s undeniably a true Konidela,” Upasana mused. “The emotional toll of parting with Kaara weighs heavily on both Charan and me. As working mothers, moments of guilt are inevitable. Yet, I find solace in the unwavering support of my staff and loved ones. Striving for a harmonious equilibrium between personal and professional realms not only nurtures my own well-being but also fosters the growth of my child.”
Elaborating on her choice to undergo egg freezing, Upasana emphasized the significance of women’s autonomy in determining their journey into motherhood. “I embarked on the journey of egg freezing as a personal endeavor,” she asserted. “Every woman deserves the liberty to shape her path to motherhood in alignment with her aspirations and timeline. Why should pragmatic decisions aimed at enhancing life’s comfort be stigmatized?”
For those unfamiliar, Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni exchanged vows in June 2012, and their daughter Klin Kaara was born on June 20, 2023.
