The spiritual leader received the award in the Best Audiobook, Narration, and Storytelling category.
New Delhi: The Dalai Lama, the top spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism, has won his first Grammy Award. At the 68th annual Grammy Awards ceremony, the Dalai Lama won the award for Best Audiobook, Narration, and Storytelling Recording for his album, “Meditation: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.”
With this, he joins K-pop and Steven Spielberg as first-time winners. The Grammy is the most prestigious honor in the world of music, presented annually by the Recording Academy to recognize outstanding achievements by artists and technical professionals.
Who is the Dalai Lama?
The Dalai Lama is considered the supreme spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism. He was born on July 6, 1935, in a small village in Tibet. At the age of two, he was recognized as the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama, and since then, his life has been dedicated to spiritual practice, compassion, and the message of humanity.
The Dalai Lama has also been honored with the Nobel Peace Prize.
The Dalai Lama is not only a religious leader but also a global symbol of peace, nonviolence, compassion, and mutual harmony. He has traveled the world lecturing on human values, mental peace, compassion, and mutual understanding. In 1989, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his peaceful advocacy of the Tibetan cause and for spreading the message of nonviolence. This is a tremendous honor.
