New Delhi: Several security agencies have been put on high alert ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India, and officials are preparing for extensive security arrangements in the national capital, official sources said on Tuesday. Putin will arrive in Delhi on a two-day visit on December 4th.

The Russian President’s detailed itinerary has been finalized, but due to strict security requirements, exact details of his stay, including his accommodation, have not yet been made public.

Police sources said that all agencies involved in the security arrangements have been instructed to maintain constant vigil during the visit. A source said, “From his arrival to his departure, multiple security agencies will monitor his every move.” We are monitoring every minute development.

Top Delhi Police officials will monitor cleanliness

The source also said that top Delhi Police officials will oversee security arrangements, including traffic management and cleanliness of areas the Russian President may visit during his stay.

He said, “As per the prepared route plan, extensive preparations will be made for the traffic route. Advisories regarding restrictions will also be issued to minimize inconvenience to passengers.”

More than 50 personnel from Russia will be arriving to protect Putin

Sources also said that more than 50 personnel from the Russian President’s advance security and protocol team will arrive in the capital soon and will conduct a detailed inspection of potential stops, places to be visited, and the overall security infrastructure.

The source said, “During the two days, there will be a multi-layered security cordon in Delhi, involving the Delhi Police, central agencies, and Putin’s personal security team. Special units, including SWAT teams, anti-terrorist squads, and quick response teams, will be deployed at strategic locations across the capital.” Surveillance will be done through drones, CCTV and technical intelligence systems will also be deployed.
