In a recent interview, Ishaan Khatter opened up about his personal life, sharing that his brother, Shahid Kapoor, had purchased a modest apartment for him and their mother in Mumbai, where they lived for a decade.

Ishaan, who recently made his much-anticipated Hollywood debut with The Perfect Couple, spoke candidly about his journey in a conversation with The Dirty Magazine. “When I was sixteen, my brother Shahid was able to buy us a small apartment,” he disclosed. My mom and I stayed there for 10 years, and after a while, it started to feel like a cage.”

The Dhadak actor recalled how he had moved in and out of various apartments over the years, revealing that he had shifted homes a total of 17 times. This current move marked his first time living independently. He shared memories of moving into Cozy Apartments on Yari Road with his mother when he was a teenager. Shahid had bought the apartment for them, and they remained there for a decade, including through the pandemic lockdowns. Describing the apartment, Ishaan noted that it was small and typical of many homes in Mumbai. With his mother, two senior individuals, and two cats, the space eventually felt cramped and stifling.

When asked if he enjoys living alone now, Ishaan admitted that while he occasionally misses having someone around, he’s appreciating the solitude and the experience of having his own space for the first time.

Meanwhile, fans praised Ishaan for his performance as the groom’s best friend in The Perfect Couple. In recent interview , he discussed the show’s plot, pointing out that while it had humor and entertainment, it also contained serious drama.

During the same interview, Ishaan touched on his personal life, revealing that he’s no longer single. While he declined to go into specifics, he hinted at having someone special in his life but preferred to keep the relationship private. Reflecting on his past relationships, he mentioned having been with someone less established in their career than himself, which impacted the dynamic. He also admitted that dealing with media attention and paparazzi made him more protective of his personal life, choosing to shield it from public scrutiny.

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Delhi High Court on Monday, seeking a ban on the Netflix series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, alleging that it distorts facts about the real identities of the hijackers. The petition claims the miniseries inaccurately portrays the actual hijackers as having Hindu names, such as ‘Bhola’ and ‘Shankar,’ which are associated with Lord Shiva, thus offending the sentiments of the Hindu community. 

The PIL was filed by Surjit Singh Yadav, a farmer and the president of the Hindu Sena. He has urged the court to direct the Central and Maharashtra governments to revoke the series’ Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) certificate and prohibit its public screening.

The petition argues that the misrepresentation of key facts concerning the hijackers’ identities not only distorts historical events but also promotes harmful stereotypes and misinformation. It stresses the need for judicial intervention to prevent public confusion and potential harm caused by such inaccuracies.

In response to the controversy, the central government has summoned the head of content at Netflix India. This decision comes amid the ongoing debate over the depiction of the hijackers in the series, which chronicles the 1999 hijacking of an Indian Airlines flight by the Pakistan-based terrorist group Harkat-ul-Mujahideen. Government officials contend that no one should be allowed to manipulate national sentiments.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has summoned Netflix India’s content head to provide an explanation on Tuesday regarding the controversial elements of the series. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, *IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack* premiered on Netflix India on August 29.
