“Deadpool & Wolverine” continues its unstoppable reign at the box office, outpacing competitors and solidifying its status as a powerhouse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film has now secured its place among the MCU’s elite, joining a prestigious list of high-grossing blockbusters.

Directed by Shawn Levy, “Deadpool & Wolverine” was expected to shatter records, and it has done just that. The film has not only broken into the exclusive billion-dollar club but also set a new benchmark as the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time, surpassing Todd Phillips’ “Joker.” Even after a month in theaters, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer shows no signs of slowing down.

Despite facing new competition from “Alien: Romulus,” “Deadpool & Wolverine” has firmly established itself as one of the year’s biggest box office triumphs. The film’s domestic earnings have reached $545 million, while its international gross stands at nearly $600 million, bringing its global total to an impressive $1.14 billion. With a production budget of $200 million, this superhero blockbuster has joined an elite group of 11 MCU films that have crossed the $1 billion mark worldwide. It has surpassed both “Captain Marvel” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” to become the ninth highest-grossing MCU film ever. This accomplishment puts it right behind blockbuster movies like “Avengers: Age of Ultron” ($1.4 billion), “Black Panther” ($1.33 billion), “Iron Man 3” ($1.2 billion), and “Captain America: Civil War” ($1.15 billion). “The Avengers” ($1.5 billion), “Spider-Man: No Way Home” ($1.9 billion), “Avengers: Infinity War” ($2 billion), and the top-grossing “Avengers: Endgame” ($2.7 billion).

On the domestic front, “Deadpool & Wolverine” now ranks sixth on the all-time MCU list, standing alongside some of the franchise’s biggest hits: “The Avengers” with $623 million, “Avengers: With $678 million, “Infinity War,” $700 million for Black Panther, $814 million for Spider-Man: No Way Home, and $858 million for Avengers: Endgame, these are the top four grossing films. These impressive domestic figures underscore the broad appeal of the film and its lead characters.

The explosive popularity of “Deadpool & Wolverine” has raised questions about Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Reynolds has clarified that this film was intended as a standalone experience, not a setup for future installments. “This movie was made as a complete experience. It wasn’t meant to be a commercial for another movie. It wasn’t meant to be any of that stuff. And, I think I get a great deal of joy making a movie like that,” Reynolds stated.

He also addressed the uncertainty surrounding his character’s future: “But honestly, right in this moment, I have no idea if I’ll ever wear that Deadpool suit again – I hope I do – but I don’t know. Right now’s the time to just kind of hang it up for a bit and see what happens next.” This remark has left fans eagerly anticipating what might come next while appreciating the film’s artistic integrity as a self-contained story.

The overwhelming success of “Deadpool & Wolverine” not only reaffirms the MCU’s resilience at the box office, especially after a few recent missteps, but also demonstrates that Marvel Studios can venture into darker, more mature themes without alienating its audience. This achievement paves the way for future MCU projects that could push the boundaries of traditional superhero narratives, offering fans fresh and thrilling experiences.

Arshad Warsi Gives Blunt Review of Kalki 2898 AD, Calls Prabhas a ‘Joker’: ‘What Have You Done to Him?’ https://theglamorholic.com/2024/08/19/arshad-warsi-gives-blunt-review-of-kalki-2898-ad-calls-prabhas-a-joker-what-have-you-done-to-him/ https://theglamorholic.com/2024/08/19/arshad-warsi-gives-blunt-review-of-kalki-2898-ad-calls-prabhas-a-joker-what-have-you-done-to-him/#respond Mon, 19 Aug 2024 08:13:44 +0000 https://www.theglamorholic.com/?p=1746  Arshad Warsi Gives Blunt Review of Kalki 2898 AD, Calls Prabhas a ‘Joker’: ‘What Have You Done to Him?’

Jolly LLB 3 star Arshad Warsi recently gave a candid and harsh review of the film *Kalki 2898 AD*. While he praised Amitabh Bachchan’s performance, he was less than impressed with Prabhas’ portrayal, comparing his look in the film to that of a ‘joker.’

In a recent conversation with Samdish Bhatia on his YouTube channel, Arshad Warsi was asked about the last movie he watched. He revealed that it was *Kalki 2898 AD* and did not hesitate to express his disappointment with the film. Despite his overall dissatisfaction, he couldn’t help but shower praise on Amitabh Bachchan, describing him as “unbelievable” and admiring the legendary actor’s presence on screen. Warsi marveled at Bachchan’s talent, saying, “I cannot understand that man. I swear, if we had his power, our lives would be set. He’s unreal.”

However, when it came to Prabhas, Warsi did not hold back his criticism. He expressed his sadness over Prabhas’ portrayal in the film, stating, “Prabhas, I am really sad. Why was he… he was like a joker. Why? I wanted to see a Mad Max. I wanted to see Mel Gibson over there. What have you done to him? I don’t understand why they do such things.”

During the same interview, Warsi praised Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film *Animal*, stating that he hadn’t seen anything like it before and calling it a “figment of a man’s imagination.” He emphasized that films are meant to entertain, not educate, and cited Marvel Studios’ *Avengers* as an example of creating a world that captivates audiences. He also acknowledged Anurag Kashyap’s unique filmmaking style, appreciating that Kashyap’s work doesn’t bore him but instead introduces him to a different world.

On the professional front, Arshad Warsi is gearing up for his next film, *Jolly LLB 3*, directed by Subash Kapoor. The comedy courtroom drama, also starring Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi, and Saurabh Shukla, is set to be released on April 10, 2025, and is backed by Cape of Good Films in collaboration with Disney.
