“Stree 2” Outpaces “KGF 2” Hindi Earnings; Eyes on Lifetime Box Office Success
“Stree 2,” starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has taken the box office by storm and shows no signs of slowing down. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this horror-comedy has resonated with audiences, making it the second-highest opener in the history of Hindi cinema. The film had a phenomenal opening weekend, and surprisingly, its performance remained strong during weekdays, reflecting its appeal and staying power among viewers. Interestingly, “Stree 2” broke all previous records for second weekend box office receipts in Bollywood history, grossing a whopping 93 crores net.
While it’s typical for box office collections to drop after the initial holiday excitement, “Stree 2” defied this trend, maintaining double-digit earnings on its 13th day. This consistent performance is a testament to the film’s widespread popularity and solid storyline. By Wednesday, “Stree 2” had surpassed the lifetime Hindi version earnings of the blockbuster “KGF 2,” which had previously held a record with 435 crores nett.With over 442 crores nett in India thus far, “Stree 2” has excited both industry insiders and moviegoers to see where its lifetime box office totals would end up.
Despite facing challenges such as heavy rainfall across several regions in North India, the film has managed to retain its momentum at the box office. “Stree 2” should have little trouble hitting the 500 crore nett milestone on its current course. The film is also projected to outdo the lifetime earnings of other major hits like “Animal,” “Pathaan,” and “Gadar 2” within the Indian market.
