Ramayana: Avengers Endgame Stunt Coordinator Joins Ranbir Kapoor’s Mega Project as Action Director; Calls It His ‘First Time’ in India

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, is shaping up to be one of Bollywood’s most monumental projects. While the film has not yet been officially announced, it continues to make headlines due to its ambitious scale and impressive star cast. It’s now been revealed that Terry Notary, renowned for his stunt coordination in Avengers, has been working on this epic saga for over a year.
In a video shared by Instagram user Kishor Khabiya Jain, Terry Notary discussed his experience of working in India. When asked about his visit, Notary explained that he was working as the action director for Ramayana. He noted that this project marks his first experience working in India, a journey that has spanned approximately a year and a half. Describing his time in India, he remarked, “It’s crazy, it’s good.” Clarifying his use of the word “crazy,” Terry added, “There’s no stopping, always going.”
Kishor shared the video on Instagram, highlighting Terry’s contribution to Ramayana. A portion of his caption read, “Sunday morning with Terry Notary, a beloved American actor, stunt coordinator, and movement coach. He’s currently in India working on OUR INDIAN CLASSIC RAMAYANA, and I can’t wait to see the final product, brother.”
Terry Notary’s impressive resume includes motion capture performances in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. In addition to his work with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Notary has been integral to other blockbuster films like Avatar, The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn, and the Planet of the Apes reboot series.
Ramayana, one of the most eagerly awaited projects in Bollywood, is anticipated to be released in two parts, with the first installment expected to hit theaters in 2026. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. Sunny Deol is set to portray Lord Hanuman, while Yash will take on the role of Ravan. Recently, it was revealed that Kunal Kapoor has joined the cast as Indra Dev. An official announcement for Ramayana is expected to be made around October (Dussehra) or November 2024 (Diwali), featuring a major video release.
