Mumbai Police on Friday visited the building in the Oshiwara area where comedian Kapil Sharma lives. This action was taken after the firing incident at his new restaurant in Canada.
For a short period, the Oshiwara police arrived at Kapil Sharma’s residence.
A senior officer told PTI that the purpose of the police team was to confirm Kapil’s home address.
The officer said, “Policemen reached the DLH Enclave building in Oshiwara. After the address was confirmed, the team returned after some time.” The officer said that Kapil’s security was not increased, nor was his statement taken.
If sources are to be believed, the police gathered all the information, like which agency is in Kapil’s security, and how many guards are there.
However, sources also say that police patrolling has been increased on Kapil Sharma’s shoot set located in Goregaon Film City, and additional deployment of the Mumbai Security Force has been done.
Following the dismissal, the “Caps Cafe” statement was released.
At the same time, for the first time after the firing incident, Caps Cafe has reacted. On social media, the cafe posted a message.
The statement read, “We opened Caps Cafe to bring warmth, community, and happiness through delicious coffee and friendly conversation. Violence interfering with this dream is heartbreaking. We are trying to understand this shock, but we will not give up.”
The statement further read, “Thank you for your support. Your good words, prayers, and memories sent in direct messages mean a lot to us. This cafe is built with your trust, which we are all building together. Let’s continue to stand together against violence and make sure Caps Cafe is always a welcoming and community-focused location.”
AICWA expressed concern over the firing at Kapil’s cafe
At the same time, regarding the firing, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) appealed to the government to take immediate cognizance of this matter and stand firmly with Kapil Sharma.
AICWA has said that India should start diplomatic discussions with the Prime Minister of Canada to ensure the safety of Caps Cafe and Kapil Sharma’s family. Those involved in this terrorist incident should be arrested soon.
AICWA: Indian artists’ safety is a national priority
The association has also said that the security of Indian artists abroad is a matter of national concern and terrorist action against any Indian citizen should not be tolerated.
AICWA appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and ensure that Kapil Sharma and his cafe in Canada are kept safe from such threats.

Harjeet Singh Ladi, a Khalistani terrorist, has claimed responsibility for the attack, according to an NDTV report. Harjeet Singh is connected to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and is listed as one of the most sought terrorists by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The attacker also made a video of the firing, which is becoming increasingly viral on social media. This shows someone sitting in a car outside of a cafe firing continually from inside the vehicle. But as of right now, there has been no report of any injuries from the incident.

Allegation of termination because of ire over Kapil Sharma’s remarks
The police and forensic team arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation following the shooting. Harjeet Singh Ladi carried out the firing incident at Kapil Sharma’s cafe over the comment against Nihang Sikhs during a comedy show.
On social media, Harjeet Singh Ladi and Toofan Singh sent a video warning to Kapil Sharma to issue an apology, stating that failure to do so could worsen the situation.
Both of them also claimed that they tried to contact Kapil Sharma’s manager several times, it was ignored. In order to attract the comedian’s attention, they eventually had to shoot outside the cafe.
However, it is not clear what Kapil Sharma commented on Nihang Sikhs. According to some sources, it might have something to do with a live event or an old Netflix program. Baba Balbir Singh, the leader of Nihang, also took issue with Kapil Sharma’s content earlier this year.
