Actor Avinash Tiwari has said that after 15 years of struggle, he got his first film Laila Majnu. But the film was pulled out of theatres just 3 days after its release. He said- it took me 15 years to get that one film. I was tired because I didn’t know what to do after that.
I worked on the film for 3 years and it was pulled out of theatres within 3 days. I didn’t know what to do. I used to wonder if I should try for another film. Avinash said these things in an interview with Hollywood Reporters.
Even after getting an acting degree, he kept wandering for work
Avinash said, ‘I adopted acting as a study. I went to New York to prepare myself. I came back and I felt that I was ready for it. You get work after a degree. This was in 2007. I thought there would be a red carpet for me, but it did not happen. I didn’t know where to go.’
He used to show his work on DVDs
He said, ‘I used to avoid leaving my photos or portfolio in the studio. I knew that it would be rejected. It would be thrown in the dustbin. In such a situation, I used to make DVDs and show them to famous studios to show how I look on screen. I wanted to make films but did not get any work.
The film earned a lot in the e-release
The film Laila Majnu, released in 2018, was a failure at the box office. After 6 years, the film was re-released, which earned 3 times more than before.
