Parody song controversy- Kunal Kamra threatened to be cut into pieces: 500 calls received; Police will send summons again today, Kamra had asked for time to appear.
Comedian Kunal Kamra is now receiving death threats for making a parody song on Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. According to sources, Kamra has received at least 500 threat calls. In which people have threatened to kill him and cut him into pieces.
On the other hand, the police issued a summons to Kamra on Tuesday. He was called to the Khar Police Station at 11 am for questioning. However, Kamra’s lawyer asked for 7 days. But the police refused. Today, on Wednesday, Khar Police will issue a second summons to Kamra under BNS Section 35. Kamra is currently out of Mumbai.
The 36-year-old stand-up comedian had taken a dig at Shinde’s political career in his show. Kamra had parodied a song from the film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, in which Shinde was called a traitor.
Meanwhile, Kunal Kamra posted another new parody song on social media on March 25. He changed the line ‘Hum Honge Kamyaab’ to ‘Hum Honge Kangal Ek Din’.

Why is Shiv Sena linking this parody to Shinde?
Shiv Sena alleges that Deputy CM Eknath Shinde’s look has been described at the beginning of Kamra’s parody. Then it is said that he rebelled against Shiv Sena and went to Guwahati with the MLAs.
Apart from this, there is also a mention of him driving a rickshaw (auto rickshaw) and being from Thane. Shinde is a resident of Thane and used to drive an auto-rickshaw earlier. At the same time, Shinde has been described as a traitor, turncoat, and one who sits in Fadnavis’ lap.
Amidst the controversy, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde said on Tuesday – It is not wrong to make fun of someone, to make sarcasm, but it also has a limit. What Kunal Kamra did it seems that he did it after taking a bribe. One should maintain courtesy while making sarcasm, otherwise there is a reaction to the action.
FIR registered against Kamra, call recording will be investigated
FIR was registered against stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra on March 24. Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam said in the Assembly – Comedian Kunal Kamra’s call recording, CDR, and bank statement will also be investigated. We will find out who is behind this. Meanwhile, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) team took action against the Unicontinental Hotel.
Shiv Sena (Shinde) workers considered this parody to be an objectionable comment on Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and vandalized the Unicontinental Hotel on Sunday night. A total of 40 Shiv Sainiks were booked in an FIR.
