Jigra director Vasan Bala says ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ to Stree 2 star Shraddha Kapoor’s fans; here’s the reason behind his apology
Vasan Bala, the director of the highly anticipated film Jigra, recently issued an apology to Shraddha Kapoor’s fans after she praised the teaser trailer of the movie starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina. The apology came following backlash from Shraddha’s fanbase when Vasan failed to tag her in a previous post appreciating her work in Stree 2.
The teaser for Jigra, one of the most awaited films of 2024, was recently released and received a lot of attention, including praise from Shraddha Kapoor. On September 8, 2024, Shraddha took to her Instagram Stories to applaud the trailer, writing, “Ye toh theater mein bhai ke saath dekhna hai @siddhanthkapoor.” She also gave a “Kya kamaal ladki hai @aliaabhatt,” the user said, expressing gratitude to both Alia Bhatt and director Vasan Bala in particular. Kya amazing trailer hai @vasanbala #JIGRA.”
On his own Instagram Stories, Vasan Bala reposted Shraddha’s compliments and expressed his appreciation, writing, “Thank you so much Shraddha, hope you and Siddhanth enjoy the film too.” “And unrelated but I’ll take this opportunity to address – sorry to your fans,” he then used the platform to make a lighthearted apology to the Stree 2 actress’s supporters. Bhool Chuk Maaf.”

Previously, Vasan Bala had praised the horror-comedy Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, but he accidentally omitted tagging Shraddha in his post, which led to disappointment among her fans. The director’s recent apology was aimed at mending this unintentional oversight.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt also responded to Shraddha’s appreciation of Jigra on her Instagram Stories, humorously calling her “my blockbuster stree” along with heart and party emojis.
The teaser for Jigra has been widely praised by both audiences and the film fraternity. The 2-minute, 49-second teaser gives a sneak peek into the film’s thrilling prison-break plot and showcases the deep sibling bond between Alia Bhatt’s character Satya and Vedang Raina’s Ankur. The film, which was written by Vasan Bala and Debashish Irengbam, is expected to have an intense and poignant plot.
