A video from the recording of the title track “Ek Din” has surfaced, showing Aamir Khan and Arijit Singh spending quality time together in Murshidabad.
Arijit Singh surprised his fans by announcing his retirement from playback singing in Hindi films.
Soon after the announcement, a video of Aamir Khan visiting him at his home in Murshidabad went viral on the internet.
Aamir Khan, along with composer Ram Sampath, visited Arijit as Arijit was recording the title track for his son Junaid Khan’s upcoming film “Ek Din.” Now, a video from the recording of the title track has surfaced, showing Aamir and Arijit spending quality time together in Murshidabad.
At the beginning of the video, Aamir is seen questioning Arijit Singh about his decision to quit playback singing. Aamir is seen sitting on the floor with Arijit in his home and asking him, “Aren’t you taking on any projects? Do you want to take a break for a while? Or don’t you want to sing for Hindi films? Don’t do this, friend. What will happen to us, brother?”
The video shows several behind-the-scenes and heartwarming moments from Aamir’s visit to Arijit’s house.
The actor can be seen flying kites with Arijit and his team. He can also be seen waving to Arijit’s neighbors, who had climbed onto the streets and rooftops to catch a glimpse of the superstar.
Next, Arijit is seen serving tea to Aamir and others present at his house. Other scenes show Aamir listening attentively to Arijit’s song “Ek Din” in his small studio. In one of the clip’s most emotional moments, the “Rang De Basanti” actor is seen sitting on the floor and eating a home-cooked meal, which Arijit serves him with various home-cooked dishes. The two are also seen playing chess with Arijit’s team and later going for a late-night scooter ride. At the end of the video, Aamir is seen thanking Arijit for a “memorable journey.”
Earlier, speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Aamir spoke about his meeting with Arijit and trying to convince him not to quit playback singing.
He said, “I was in Murshidabad a few days ago. I didn’t go there to convince Arijit not to quit singing for films. I went there for something else. I tried my best to convince him to change his decision, but in vain. It seems he has made up his mind.” Aamir clarified that since Arijit had already agreed to sing “Ek Din” before announcing his retirement, he agreed to sing the song.
Aamir further added, “He is extremely talented and a very sweet person. I had a wonderful time with him, his family, and his team. He performed the songs so well. He is truly an amazing artist! And this is a very sad loss for the film industry and for all of us, his fans.”
