Mandhana became the second captain to win two WPL titles

RCB won the Women’s Premier League title for the second time. Previously, the team won the final against Delhi in 2024. With this, Smriti Mandhana became the first captain to win two WPL titles as a captain. In this feat, she equaled Mumbai captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who won the title in 2023 and 2025.

Mandhana and Georgia’s record 165-run partnership

Chasing a target of 204 in the title match, RCB got off to a shaky start. Chinelle Henry bowled Grace Harris for nine, who managed just nine runs. Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Wall then took charge. The two shared a 165-run partnership for the second wicket in 92 balls, which was the key to RCB’s victory.

This partnership between Mandhana and Georgia is the highest for any wicket in WPL history. The previous highest partnership was a 162-run partnership between Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma against RCB in 2023. Georgia reached her half-century in 37 balls and departed with 79 runs off 54 balls, including 14 fours.

Mandhana Sets a Series of Records

Mandhana reached her half-century in 24 balls, scoring 87 runs off 41 balls, including 12 fours and three sixes. Mandhana set a series of records during this innings, becoming the fifth batsman in WPL history to reach over 1,000 runs. With this, she joined the likes of Nat Sheaver Brunt (1348), Meg Lanning (1200), Harmanpreet Kaur (1193), and Shafali Verma (1124). Mandhana also became the batsman with the highest score in a WPL final, surpassing Georgia Wall in this regard.

Roading towards victory, RCB suffered their fourth setback at 191, losing Mandhana to Chinelle Henry. However, the RCB batsmen held their nerve, and Nadine de Klerk and Radha Yadav scored seven and 12 runs, respectively, to guide the team to victory.

Delhi scored the second-highest total

Earlier, Delhi Capitals made history by scoring 203 runs in the final. Riding on a blistering 57-run knock from Jemimah Rodrigues, the team reached 203 for four in 20 overs. This is the second-highest total in a playoff match in WPL history. Previously, Mumbai had scored 213/4 in the Eliminator match against Gujarat last year.

A 49-run partnership between Lizelle Lee and Shafali

Delhi got off to a slow start in this match. The team had scored only nine runs after the first three overs. Lizelle Lee changed gears in the fourth over and targeted Sayali Satghare, scoring 20 runs in the fourth over of the innings. Lee and Shafali shared a 49-run partnership for the first wicket. Arundhati Reddy targeted Shefali on the fifth ball of the sixth over, and she returned to the pavilion after scoring 20 runs. Lizelle Lee was then dismissed for 37 runs.

Jemimah equaled Harmanpreet

For the third wicket, L. Wolvaardt and captain Jemimah Rodrigues shared a 76-run partnership in 51 balls. During this, Jemimah reached her half-century in 32 balls. This is the second fastest half-century in WPL playoff matches. Earlier, Nat Sheaver-Brunt had scored a half-century in 29 balls against Gujarat Giants. Jemimah became the third batsman to score a half-century in a Women’s Premier League final, equaling Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sheaver-Brunt. Mumbai captain Harmanpreet had scored 66 runs in the title match against Delhi last year. Before that, Nat Sheaver-Brunt had scored an unbeaten 60 in the title match against Delhi in 2023.

Fifty-century partnership between Wolvaardt and Henry

Jemimah was caught by Clarke off Sayli Satghare. Wolvaardt and Chinelle Henry then took charge. They shared 55 runs for the fourth wicket in 24 balls, taking the score past 200. Wolvaardt scored 44 runs, while Henry remained unbeaten on 35.
