We all still treasure and have happy recollections of seeing the comedy-drama “3 Idiots” from 2009. The film, which was directed by Rajkumar Hirani, struck a chord with the student body because it accurately captured the stress and hardship that comes with too much competition. Actor R. Madhavan, who plays the ardent photographer and engineering student “Farhan Qureshi” in the movie, shared a fascinating anecdote about the childbirth scene in which the kid is stillborn and the males around him begin shouting, “All is well.”
These are the words of R. Madhavan…….
During an interview with Connect FM Canada, R. Madhavan discussed the famous moment. “I recall a scene from “3 Idiots” where the baby is stillborn and all the males yell “Everything is well,” at which point the baby just kicks. Many people commented, “This is a commercial scene; this is a little too much; remove this and the film will be on the same level,” when we screened the movie for them. “The whole film is fine, and is in a different frequency,” R. Madhavan added.
After listening to everyone, Raju made the decision to suno sabki karo apni, which means to listen to everyone but do what you want. He saved that moment because, and he was completely correct, he anticipated that it would be the one that elicited cheers in the B and C centers. When the child kicked at the premiere, the audience exploded in applause, and the Bollywood actor continued. “There were people who did not clap.”
However, I am glad that Rajkumar Hirani chose to include that scene in the finished product as it has become one of the most recognizable images in the successful film. With an ensemble cast of Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Boman Irani and Omi Vaidya, “3 Idiots” remains an entertaining and timeless movie!
