Birthday boy Akshay Kumar unveils FIRST LOOK of Bhooth Bangla; says he’s ‘beyond excited’ to reunite with Priyadarshan after 14 years
On the occasion of his 57th birthday, September 9, 2024, Akshay Kumar surprised his fans with a special gift – the announcement of his upcoming film Bhooth Bangla, directed by none other than Priyadarshan. The film marks their reunion after 14 years, and the actor couldn’t be more thrilled.
Taking to Instagram, Akshay shared the intriguing first look of Bhooth Bangla. The teaser opens with a shot of the moon and a black cat’s tail, setting a spooky tone. Akshay, dressed in a blue suit with a red tie and pocket square, is seen standing in front of a haunted house with a quirky expression as he drinks milk from a bowl while a black cat rests on his shoulder. The film’s title, Bhooth Bangla, is revealed in golden and red letters, with eerie laughter in the background, adding to the spooky vibe. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film is slated for a 2025 release.

“Thank you for your love on my birthday, year after year!” is how Akshay captioned the photo to show his appreciation for the love he received on his birthday. Additionally, he expressed his enthusiasm at working with Priyadarshan once more, saying, “We’re celebrating this year with the premiere of Bhooth Bangla! I can’t wait to work with Priyadarshan once more after a 14-year break. This dream collaboration has been a long time coming… can’t wait to take you all on this incredible journey.” He teased that there’s more to come, adding, “Stay tuned for the magic! #BhoothBangla.”
Fans couldn’t contain their excitement over the announcement, flooding the comments section with birthday wishes and expressing their enthusiasm about the actor-director duo reuniting. “The magical duo is back after 14 years!” exclaimed one fan. A couple of days earlier, on Ganesh Chaturthi, Akshay had teased his followers about the announcement. He posted a cryptic video featuring a metallic evil face with glowing red eyes, hinting at the film’s horror-comedy theme. In his caption, he said, “Ganpati Bappa Morya! What better day than today to give you a hint of something special? The big reveal is on my birthday!”
Bhooth Bangla is presented by Balaji Telefilms Ltd. in association with Cape of Good Films. The film is produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R. Kapoor, with Faara Sheikh and Vedant Vikaas Bali serving as co-producers.
In the meantime, Akshay was recently seen in the comedy-drama Khel Khel Mein and made a cameo appearance in Stree 2. He also has a busy lineup ahead, including Singham Again, Sky Force, Jolly LLB 3, Welcome To The Jungle, and more.
