Here, he discussed expanding collaboration with the state government in the fields of health, agriculture, education, and technology.
During this visit, the possibilities of new partnerships between the Gates Foundation and the state government were discussed, with particular emphasis on artificial intelligence, digital health, and the use of drone technology in agriculture.
Microsoft Founder and Gates Foundation Chairman Bill Gates arrived in Andhra Pradesh on Monday. He was welcomed at Gannavaram Airport by State IT Minister Nara Lokesh and senior cabinet ministers. Accompanied by Andhra Pradesh government ministers, Bill Gates arrived at the State Secretariat. Issues related to strengthening health, agriculture, education, and technology-based governance will be discussed here. This visit by Bill Gates is considered an important step for future partnerships between the state government and the Gates Foundation.
New Partnerships Expected in the Technology and Health Sector
IT Minister Nara Lokesh welcomed Bill Gates in a post on the social media platform X. He said, “Welcome to Amaravati, Mr. Bill Gates. It was a privilege to welcome the Chairman of the Gates Foundation at Gannavaram Airport today.” Lokesh also stated that the Andhra Pradesh government is excited to work with the Gates Foundation to find solutions that have a large-scale impact on public welfare. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has also requested Gates to expand existing health programs in the state. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its potential benefits are also expected to be discussed.
Existing Health Projects Will Be Expanded
The Gates Foundation is already working on health projects in the Kuppam region of Chittoor district. These initiatives will now be expanded to other parts of the state to benefit more people.
Inspection of Real-Time Governance System
During his visit, Bill Gates will also inspect the Real-Time Governance System (RTGS). Chief Minister Naidu will brief him on the use of technology in governance and its results. The Chief Minister will also present the “Golden Andhra 2047” vision, which includes improvements made in healthcare, medical technology, diagnostic services, and digital health record programs like Sanjivani.
Bill Gates will observe the use of drones and AI in agriculture
Bill Gates will also visit an agricultural farm in Undavalli village, Amaravati, where he will be shown a demonstration of the use of drones and artificial intelligence in agriculture.
Has visited Andhra Pradesh before
This is Bill Gates’ third visit to Andhra Pradesh. He has previously visited the united Andhra Pradesh twice. This visit is being undertaken at the invitation of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and aims to further strengthen the collaboration between the state government and the Gates Foundation.
