Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is still more than a year away from release. But the wait for this film and the anticipation among fans is breaking all limits. The biggest reason for this is the return of Robert Downey Jr. The previous films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have consistently flopped. While RDJ, who played the most favorite superhero Iron Man, is now coming back as the most dangerous villain, Doctor Doom. The anticipation and excitement of the fans increased even more when the Russo Brothers shared a teaser post on Wednesday. At first glance, nothing is visible in this blurred photo, but the eagle-eyed fans have found something that is a big revelation about the film’s story.
When internet users looked closely at the Russo Brothers’ post, they figured out the purpose behind it. When this blurred photo is zoomed in, it becomes clear that it is a blackboard with some kind of formula written on it. Now fans are speculating that it is connected to Marvel’s previous film ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’.

The Russo Brothers shared a blurred picture on their Instagram account on Wednesday. Along with it, they wrote, ‘Doomsday is coming.’ Now, those who saw ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ released in July 2025, will know that Pedro Pascal, who plays Reed Richards, was seen several times in the film standing in front of a blackboard just like this one. Not only that, the film ends with Robert Downey Jr. holding Reed and Sue’s baby. This suggests that the stories are somehow connected.

Internet users’ keen eyes caught the twist
Reddit and Instagram users also believe that this image shared by the makers hints at the entry of the ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ cast into ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. One user wrote, “Reed Richards’ blackboard?“, another user wrote, “I think it’s Reed’s chalkboard and they’re building a bridge.”

One user commented, “Looks like it’s zoomed in like this… Richards’ notes…? Or Moon Knight’s symbols…? I don’t know… anything is possible.”

Earlier in July, a picture from the set of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ was also leaked on social media, showing Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing from Fantastic Four), Wyatt Russell (US Agent from Thunderbolts), and Danny Ramirez standing inside what looked like the cockpit of a spaceship. The window panels and high-tech control systems suggest that this could be the same Fantastic Four ship that was teased in the post-credits scene of ‘Thunderbolts’. Most interestingly, a glimpse of the Black Panther suit and legs was also seen in one part of the frame.
The Multiverse, Doctor Doom, and Shuri’s Discovery
According to the ‘scooper’ report, Shuri is the one who discovers the Incursions. While investigating the Multiverse, she finds out that different universes are colliding with each other. Using a hologram, she informs Sam, Wong, Bruce Banner, and Carol Danvers about her discovery and warns them about the impending danger.
Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts Unite!
Meanwhile, we see some events unfolding on Earth-616 involving the Fantastic Four. The Thunderbolts are the first to encounter them. Reed Richards explains that Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) has kidnapped his son Franklin and also mentions Galactus, who had previously tried to capture Franklin due to his powers. Bucky Barnes is unsure how to handle this situation with Doctor Doom, so he goes to Sam for advice. Now, it remains to be seen how all the superheroes will unite to save Earth.
