Dance teacher harassed me at the age of 8: Actress Anjali Anand said – He sexually abused me for 6 years by calling himself my father.
Recently, actress Anjali Anand was seen in the Netflix series ‘Dabba Cartel’. In a podcast, she talked about her personal life. During the conversation, the actress made a shocking disclosure about her childhood. Anjali said that in childhood, her dance teacher sexually abused her. This series of harassment lasted for about 6 years.
Harassed after father’s death
In the Hauterfly podcast, Anjali recalls that childhood incident and says I have never said this on the screen to date. ‘I was eight years old. This incident happened just after my father’s death. My teacher introduced himself as my father. I believed him because I did not know. Then he slowly started harassing me. First, he kissed me on my cheeks and then on the lips. After doing this, he would say, Father does this only. I did not know what a father-daughter relationship should be like because whatever I asked for, he would give it to me.’
He kept an eye on everything I did
Anjali says in the podcast that her dance teacher started controlling her life. He did not allow her to keep her hair open or wear girls’ clothes. He did not want anyone to be attracted to me. He kept an eye on my messages and conversations. He used to come to pick me up from school. He even called tuition teachers to his house so that I would not go out. Everyone used to wonder why he was everywhere. But no one tried to know the reason.’
Her first boyfriend saved her from that teacher
Anjali says that when her sister got married, she met her father’s friend’s son. That boy had a crush on her. Slowly, the two started talking. Then they realized that what was happening was a normal thing. Then both of them got into a relationship.
The actress says- ‘I was in a relationship with him for two years. My first boyfriend saved me from that teacher. After the breakup, one day I took him for a walk. Then I told him everything and thanked him for saving me.’
Talking about Anjali’s film career, she made her debut with Dharma Production’s film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. The film was directed by Karan Johar. Anjali played the role of Ranveer Singh’s sister in the film. Recently, the actresses’ ‘Raat Jawan Hai’ and ‘Dabba Cartel’ web series were released. Anjali’s role was liked during these days.
