Root scored a brilliant century in the second Test against Australia. This is Root’s first century in Australia. After failing in the first Test in Perth, Root made a remarkable comeback in Brisbane and managed to score a century in a difficult Test match with the Pink Ball. This is also his 40th century of his Test career.
Century comes after 30 innings
Before this innings, Joe Root had a total of 39 Test centuries, but none of them had been scored on Australian soil. However, this time he made no mistake and completed his century by hitting a brilliant four off Scott Boland. Joe Root’s century came in his 30th innings in Australia.
