A major fire broke out on the set of the popular TV show Anupama, which was built in Mumbai Film City, at 5 a.m. today. Preparations were underway for the show’s shooting, which was set to begin at 7 a.m. When the fire broke out, a large number of team members were present on set. The fire department has worked hard to control the fire. Now, the All India Cine Workers Association has demanded a strict investigation into this accident.
The set of Anupama has been completely burnt to ashes due to the fire. The sets of some other TV shows adjacent to it have also suffered some damage due to the flames. After this accident, the shooting of the show was stopped for some time.
In this case, All India Cine Workers President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta has written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis demanding an order for a high-level judicial inquiry. He has also held the managing director and labor commissioner of the film city responsible for the accident and demanded their suspension.
He says that due to the producer’s negligence and irresponsible actions, such accidents have become common on the sets, which endangers the lives of many workers.
The Cine Workers Association has also talked about filing a complaint against the producer, production house, television channel, film city managing director, and labor commissioner. So that it can be clear whether such accidents are being carried out for insurance claims and financial benefits.
Producers that are irresponsible on shooting sets will be blacklisted.
Suresh Shyamlal Gupta further stated that all shooting sets in Maharashtra should undergo a fire audit. If negligence of producers and film city authority is found during this time, then they will be blacklisted from the industry.
