Security Breach at Salman Khan’s Residence: Two Intruders Arrested Within 48 Hours
In a concerning series of events, Salman Khan’s residence—Galaxy Apartments in Bandra—was the target of two separate intrusion attempts within just two days. The most recent incident occurred on May 20, but came to light publicly on Thursday, when police confirmed the arrest of a 23-year-old man named Jitendra Kumar, a resident of Chhattisgarh.
An intruder hid in a car to gain access to the Galaxy Apartment.
According to a police complaint, Jitendra was first noticed loitering near the building at 9:45 a.m.
on May 20. Sandeep Narayan, a police officer with Salman Khan’s Y+ security detail, approached and ordered him to leave. The man responded by smashing his phone on the ground and leaving the premises.
However, around 7:15 PM the same day, the man returned—this time concealing himself inside the car of a resident to gain entry into the building. He was promptly apprehended by constables Surve, Mahetre, Pawar, and security guard Kamlesh Mishra and turned over to Bandra Police. Officer Sandeep’s accusation prompted the filing of a FIR.
Second Intrusion Attempt by Woman on the Previous Night
Just a day before this incident, another individual—a woman named Isha Chhabra—also attempted to trespass into Galaxy Apartment. She, too, was apprehended and arrested. Both cases are currently under investigation.
Salman Khan’s security is rated Y+ and includes 24-hour protection.
Following multiple death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in 2023, Salman Khan was provided Y+ category security by the Maharashtra government. He is now accompanied by a team of 11 personnel, including 2 PSOs and commandos, at all times.
His convoy includes two escort vehicles, one in front and one behind his bulletproof car. As an added precaution, his apartment balcony has been upgraded with bulletproof shielding since January this year, and high-resolution surveillance cameras have been installed around the premises.
Past Threats and Ongoing Risk
This security escalation follows an earlier attack on April 14, 2024, when unknown assailants fired shots at Galaxy Apartment, a crime for which the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility. Seven suspects were arrested in connection with the incident, one of whom reportedly committed suicide in custody.
Exactly a year later, on April 14, 2025, Salman received another death threat via WhatsApp. The message, sent to the Transport Department in Worli, threatened to blow up Salman’s car with a bomb and vowed to “enter the house and kill him.” The Worli Police tracked down and arrested the sender.
