Comedian Kunal Kamra has now knocked on the door of the Bombay High Court in the parody song case on Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. In the High Court, he has demanded the cancellation of the FIR registered by Mumbai Police.

Kamra had filed a petition in the High Court on April 5, claiming that the FIR registered against him is a violation of the fundamental rights given to him by the Constitution. The case will be heard on April 21 by a division bench of Justice SV Kotwal and Justice SM Modak of Bombay High Court.

Book my show removed all of Kamara’s content

At the same time, ticket booking platform BookMyShow on Saturday removed comedian Kunal Kamra’s name from the artists list on its website. Along with this, all the content related to Kamra has also been removed from the website.

Kamra had called Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde a traitor in his show. After this, Shiv Sena leader Rahul Kanal wrote a letter to BookMyShow on April 3 demanding not to sell tickets for his show.

Kamra did not appear even in the third summons

Apart from this, Kunal Kamra did not appear before the Mumbai Police even on the third summons. On April 2, he was sent the third summons, in which he was asked to appear on April 5.

Actually, an FIR has been registered against Kunal Kamra in Khar police station of Mumbai in the case of parody song on Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. Kamra did a parody in a standup comedy show, in which Shinde was called a traitor.

Kamra commented on the police raid on March 31

Earlier on March 31, Mumbai Police reached the house of comedian Kunal Kamra. On this, Kamra wrote on social media – ‘Going to an address where I have not been living for the last ten years. It is a waste of your time and public resources.’

Kamra appeared in the Madras High Court on 1 April

Kunal Kamra appeared in Madras High Court on 1 April. He claimed that the police was trying to arrest him, so he should be given transit anticipatory bail. While hearing the case, Justice Sundar Mohan granted transit anticipatory bail to Kamra. After this, he shared a post on X.

In today’s era, artists have only two options – either sell your soul and become a puppet of the dollar or quietly perish.

However, earlier on March 28, the High Court granted Kamra anticipatory bail till April 7.

Know what is the whole matter

Kunal Kamra did a parody in a stand-up comedy show, in which Shinde was called a traitor. An FIR has been registered against him in Khar police station in Mumbai. In this case, Mumbai Police has sent him summons thrice. Earlier on March 31, Mumbai Police reached Kamra’s house in Shivaji Park.

Police summoned the banker, who went to the show as a witness

Mumbai Police has summoned a banker who went to Kunal Kamra’s show as a witness. However, the police said that his immediate presence was not necessary.

According to reports, the banker went on vacation till April 6. But due to the notice, the banker had to cancel the trip and return on March 31 (Monday).

On this, Kamra expressed regret on social media for the trouble caused to the banker. He said please forgive me for the trouble caused to you by participating in my show.

Kunal told the banker on social media Email me so that I can plan a vacation for you anywhere in India.

Three cases registered at different places

Three new cases were registered against stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra at Khar Police Station in Mumbai. These cases are related to the controversial statement given about Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. According to the information given by Mumbai Police on March 29, the first complaint has been filed by the mayor of Jalgaon, while the remaining one case each has been filed by two different businessmen of Nashik.

In this case, Mumbai Police has issued two summons to Kunal Kamra for questioning. At the same time, the notice of breach of privilege against Kamra has also been accepted in the Maharashtra Legislative Council.

Comedian Kunal Kamra, who is embroiled in controversy for writing a parody song on Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, has been summoned by the police for questioning on March 31. The police have issued two summonses to him so far.

The controversy started by calling Shinde a traitor

The 36-year-old stand-up comedian had made a sarcastic remark on Shinde’s political career in his show. Kamra had parodied a song from the film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, in which Shinde was called a traitor. Through the song, he had also commented in a humorous tone about the division between Shiv Sena and NCP.

After Kamra’s video surfaced, on the night of March 23, supporters of the Shiv Sena Shinde faction vandalized the Habitat Comedy Club in the Khar area of ​​Mumbai. Shinde said, ‘This same person (Kamra) had commented on the Supreme Court, the Prime Minister, Arnab Goswami, and some industrialists. This is not freedom of expression. This is working for someone.’

Meanwhile, regarding the vandalism incident, Kunal Kamra said that he would not apologize for his controversial comments about Shinde and criticized the vandalism at the place in Mumbai where the comedy show was recorded.
