Singer Amaal Mallik is battling depression: Blamed family, said- took away peace, left no stone unturned to spoil everything, squeezed emotionally-financially.
Singer Amaal Mallik has recently shared a long post on being clinically depressed. He says that everything was taken away from him. In his post, he has blamed his family for depression in hushed words and has made it clear that from now on he is ending relations with the family.
Singer Amaal Mallik has recently spoken openly about depression on Instagram. He has written, ‘I have now come to a stage where I cannot hide my pain. For years I have been made to feel that I am inferior, while I work hard day and night to give people a safe life. I have shattered all my dreams and have come to know that people treat me badly and ask what I have done.’
Further, the singer wrote, ‘I have put in blood, sweat, and tears for the 126 melodies that have been released in the past years. For the past several years, they have left no stone unturned to create problems in my well-being, my confidence, my friendships, my relationships. But I just kept moving forward because I knew I could do it, I believed that I was unshakable. Whatever I have today is because of my mind and God’s blessings.’
‘Where I am today, my peace has been taken away from me, I have been squeezed emotionally, maybe financially too, but I am not too bothered by it. The thing that matters the most is that I am clinically depressed because all this is happening. Yes, I can blame myself for my actions, but my self-esteem has been damaged many times by the actions of those dear people. They have stolen pieces of my soul.’
Announcement of ending relations with family
Further in the post, Amaal Mallik has also talked about ending relations with his family. He wrote, ‘Today I am announcing with a heavy heart that I am moving away from these personal relationships. From now on, my conversations with my family will be completely professional. This is not a decision taken in anger, but this decision has been taken to fix my life and regain my life. I will not let my past take away my future. I am committed to rebuilding my life with honesty and strength.

Amaal has given voice to many songs like the song O Khuda from the film Hero. He has received the Composer of the Year Award for the song Aashiq Surrender Hua from the film Badrinath Ki Dulhania and the song Suraj Dooba Hai from Roy. He has also composed for Salman Khan’s Jai Ho and Khoobsurat.
