
Mahakumbh 2025: A case of selling photos and videos of women and girls taking a dip or changing clothes in Maha Kumbh on social media platforms has come to light.
Prayagraj: Women’s privacy is being violated in the Maha Kumbh area. Pictures of women changing clothes and bathing are being sold on social media. Taking this matter seriously, the police have registered an FIR against 11 social media channels in the police station Kotwali Kumbh of Maha Kumbh area. The police are investigating the matter. According to the information received, it has been told in the FIR that the picture of women changing clothes after bathing in the Kumbh area is being sold on the social site Telegram for Rs 1999. The police got information about this from the social site itself and after that, the police took cognizance of the matter and registered an FIR in the police station Kotwali. A police investigation is going on continuously in this matter.
Private videos of women and girls who went to bathe in the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj are going viral on social media. These videos were recorded when the women were bathing or changing clothes in the Triveni Sangam. The shocking thing is that these videos are being sold on Telegram and available on Meta’s platform. In this serious matter, the police have registered two separate FIRs and started an investigation.
Instagram account neha1224872024 and CCTV Channel 11 are claiming to make available videos of women bathing in Maha Kumbh for various amounts. In this case, the police have now registered a case and sought information about the account user from Meta.
According to media reports, the 15 accounts against which FIR has been lodged include 1- Girls Live Video (Facebook), Desi Bhabi Ji (Facebook), Rupola Rose (Facebook), Dwivedi rasiya @dwivedirasiya4271 (Youtube), Crush of Indian @CrushofIndians (Youtube), Mahakumbh-2025 @pkumar334 (Youtube), BABA KA VLOGEE Comedy @BABAKAVLOGEE440 (Youtube), Blogger Aabha Devi @BloggerAabhaDevi077k (Youtube), Roshan Desi Vlogs @roshandesivlogs4438 (Youtube), Kapil Tv @Kapiltv1 (Youtube), Mela Mahotsav @Mela-Mahotsav (Youtube), Pushpa village vlog @pushpavillagvlog (Youtube), Hindu Official 1.2M The names include @hinduk7066 (Youtube), Play Tube @PlayTube7325 (Youtube), desi.rasiya.video @desi.rasiya.video (Instagram).
In the FIR, the police wrote, ‘It is to be informed that during social media monitoring, it was found that serious questions have been raised on the privacy of women who came to take a holy dip in the Maha Kumbh. Their photos and videos were shared on social media and Telegram while bathing and changing clothes. Some pictures were used as teasers to sell other objectionable content, where their spiritual journey faced violation of privacy. A screenshot of a Telegram channel named CCTV channel 11 has also been attached to this post, in which the video of women bathing was provided on taking membership in 1999 is mentioned.
