Varun Dhawan’s Niece Anjini Dhawan Reveals Why She Never Asked David Dhawan to Launch Her: ‘Our Family’s Mantra is…’
Anjini Dhawan, the niece of Bollywood star Varun Dhawan, is all set to make her big-screen debut with Binny and Family. The Dhawan family has shown their love and support for her upcoming film, but in a recent interview, Anjini shared an interesting revelation — despite her family’s strong connections in the film industry, she never approached her uncle, filmmaker David Dhawan, to launch her career.
In a recent interview , Anjini spoke candidly about her journey. Despite growing up in a film family, she admitted that she didn’t have the courage to ask her uncle for help in securing her Bollywood debut. “The mantra of our family is that you achieve what you genuinely deserve,” Anjini added.. You’ll have everyone’s blessings, love, and support once you accomplish it. With me, that is precisely what has transpired.”
She went on to point out that even Varun Dhawan, who is a major Bollywood star, wasn’t launched by his father, David Dhawan. Anjini emphasized that discussions about her career or debuting in films were never something she considered bringing up with her family. She felt it wasn’t appropriate to make such a request and stuck to the belief that success comes through hard work and merit.
Anjini expressed her admiration for Varun’s achievements, saying she feels blessed to have someone so inspiring in her family. However, she clarified that she doesn’t feel pressured to live up to his success, and has always been able to maintain her individuality without being overshadowed by her cousin’s stardom.
Interestingly, Anjini didn’t inform her family about her casting in Binny and Family until after she had signed the contract. She chose to keep the news to herself, as she didn’t want to be overwhelmed by advice or opinions from her family. “I knew this was the right project for me,” she said, explaining that the film’s story resonated deeply with her. Anjini preferred to make this decision on her own, though she acknowledged the influence of her family’s legacy.
Binny and Family is a heartwarming story that explores the relationship between three generations of a family and the communication barriers they face. The film features seasoned actors like Pankaj Kapur, Himani Shivpuri, Rajesh Kumar, and Charu Shankar, and Anjini admitted feeling nervous about acting alongside such veterans.
Binny and Family, which is slated for release on September 20, 2024, will be Anjini Dhawan’s Bollywood debut.
