However, progress seems to have slowed. In 2023, work on the film was paused due to the Writers Guild of America strike. Prior to this, Tom Holland, known for his role in The Devil All The Time, mentioned that discussions for the fourth film were taking place.

Some speculated that Spider-Man 4 could be released on June 27, 2025, a date Sony Pictures has set aside for an unnamed Marvel project. However, with filming not yet underway, this release date seems unlikely. Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circle speculated that the movie might be released between the premieres of Daredevil: Born Again and Avengers: Doomsday. Industry insider Jeff Sneider also suggested that filming could start in September or October 2024, although no official confirmation has been made.
Industry insider Daniel Richtman shared more details on his Patreon, hinting at a possible release window for the film. Richtman claims that Spider-Man 4 will start production the next year and be released in theaters in July 2026. “As anticipated, ‘Spider-Man 4’ is now scheduled to film next year, with a release date of July 2026 between ‘Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars,’ implying that this may be another multiverse-themed movie.”
As of now, neither Sony Pictures nor Marvel Studios have officially commented on these details. While much of this information remains speculative, if Richtman’s timeline is accurate and Spider-Man 4 releases between Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, it might explore the multiverse, a theme that has gained prominence in recent Marvel films.
