Due to heavy rains in Mumbai, water on railways has affected all three railway lines. Many Central Railway, and Harbor Railway trains were cancelled.
Some run half an hour behind schedule. This creates a lot of problems for Mumbaikars.
Monsoon has been kind to the entire Maharashtra including Mumbai. Mumbai and its suburbs have been experiencing heavy rain for the past few days. Due to this, train traffic is interrupted. Due to heavy rain throughout Sunday evening, water filled the tracks in many places. In this situation, many local trains were canceled. However, local services sometimes run slowly. Hence, Mumbaikars have to face big problems in the morning.
Where does the local effect take effect?
– On Central Railway, Karjat-Khopoli, Kasara to CSMT, local services are running only up to Thane and continue to be canceled.
– The train at Bhandup station is flooded. This affected the bottom line.
– Due to the wet railway track at Kurla-Mankhurdi station, local trains running on the Harbor line were canceled.
– The Goregaon-CSMT local area is completely closed temporarily due to the water level of Wadala.
Heavy rain warning for next 3-4 days
The Meteorological Department has predicted more heavy rains across the state, including Mumbai, in the next 3-4 days. Heavy rain is expected over central Maharashtra and Marathwada on 8th-10th. in July
On Saturday and Sunday, it rained heavily in Mumbai and suburbs since Saturday. This caused floods in many places. Local train services in Mumbai were disrupted due to heavy rains. Local traffic was also affected at times on Sunday. Local traffic between Kasara and Titwala stations in Mumbai’s neighboring city of Thane was halted due to a tree that fell on the track. The hill accidentally fell on the track between Kalyan and Kasara and the pillar supporting the OHE got bent. The track is underwater in the Panvel-Kalamboli area.
