As a viewer of Serial Vertigo, I feel strongly that we need a word to describe the euphoric feeling you get – halfway through a new series. For example, the feeling you get after finishing a good book is called a “Zero To One.”
However, there are no words to describe the sadness, loss or low you feel when a series ends. The pain of the season finale is all too real. Then begins the agonizing months and sometimes Seasons of waiting to land the next season.
I first faced this struggle when Game of Thrones was three seasons old and somehow I haven’t seen a second of the show despite all the hype and hype surrounding it. It was on my to-do list, but it wasn’t until I was on a wellness retreat in a deserted winter town in Austria to detox (all the time in the world with nothing to do) that I started watching the series. In the one week I was there, I reviewed all the seasons. And then, like everyone else, I waited for the new season.
The weekly episodes had to be watched immediately. If you couldn’t, you had to avoid people and the internet so that no one would reveal the spoiler. Then after watching it, discussions and debates arise. You’d read everything you could about the series – the plot, the fan theories, the cast… And it still wasn’t enough. The feared phrase—the final season—loomed large over the series’ conclusion. And then you look for something new to fill the void, hoping it will give you the same high.
Panchayat Season 3 (Hindi)
Returning series are always more awaited than new ones. Because they are loved. The world is familiar. Plus, you get to know the characters like your friends and family. Sometimes even more! That’s why I can’t wait for Panchayat Season 3 to return on May 28. Season 2 ended on a gut-wrenching note when widowed Prahlad Pandey (Faisal Malik), Phulera’s assistant pradhan, breaks down after losing his only family. he went—his son—to war. It was indeed a confusing climax for a comedy-drama. What comes next will be intriguing to see.
Meanwhile, a storm in the vegetable market keeps things interesting – the ride on the cliff begins with the search for a new Sachivji as the old retreats to books. Lauki, who became the center of the new season’s marketing strategy, is as unique as the show itself. Save the date: Panchayat 3 releases in Hindi and will be dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada on May 28.
Mirzapur Season 3 (Hindi)
The famous organized crime series is steeped in blood and gore. Set in the hinterlands of India, the crime thriller took viewers into a dark but captivating saga of power, revenge, ambition, politics, deception, betrayal and complex family dynamics. Think guns, chewers and testosterone. These bad boys have endured and become embedded in our collective minds, despite their not-so-nice qualities like greed, jealousy, and rage.
Family deaths (murders sound more apt) continue to be the catalyst for murder and mayhem in both season finales of this series. However, Season 2 of this gangster saga will serve as a kind of interlude between Season 1 and the upcoming Season 3. New characters are introduced and some are removed as well. war
Sharad Shukla (Anjumm Shharma) is behind the scenes puppeteer who almost gets what he wants in the season 2 finale when he confronts Munna (Divyenndu) with her father Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi (Pankaj Tripathi). Shatrughan Tyagi (Vijay Verma; in dual roles as identical twin Bharat) survives a shooting that kills his maternal uncle and brother Bharat (or so we think). Kaleen remains the king of Mirzapur in Season 1. Guddu (Ali Fazal) ascends the “throne” in Season 2.
The new king in Season 3? Sharad Shukla seemed willing to throw himself into the battle. Shatrughan Tyagi, not so much. No matter, this gangster drama promises to be a compelling watch because we all want closure. With the third season, the stakes went up a notch and the fabric got bigger. And know what to expect. The big question is whether the throne of Mirzapur or the Gaddi will be won or hijacked in a power and power struggle where trust is a luxury that no one can afford.
Paatal Loki Season 2 (Hindi)
Most shows end on a cliffhanger that keeps the audience thirsty for the next dose. Some series end with open endings to leave the viewer wanting. However, season 1 of the crime thriller Paatal Loki ended in suicide. Played in a final.
In the series full of twists and turns, the three economic classes (upper, middle, and lower) of India are represented by policeman Hathiram Chaudhary (Jaideep) heaven (swarg), earth (dharti), and hell (paatal). Ahlawat) investigates a case that could be his undoing. Caught at the crossroads of politics, prime-time television and rampant crime, the season follows four hitmen led by Vishal “Hathoda” Tyagi (Abhishek Banerjee). He finally makes peace with things after the series ends.
Private Tyagi shoots himself in the climax knowing that his beloved mentor Masterji is no more. Finally, there was feeling. Everything was well-packed. No question was left unanswered. It was as if a sequel was not planned. We’re eager to see where author Sudip Sharma will lead us next. The premiere of the second season has not yet been announced. We know that Inspector Hathiram Chaudhary (Jaideep Ahlawat) will be back along with rookie cop Ansari.
