Tanuj Virwani Reveals the Real Reason for His Estrangement from Ex-Girlfriend Akshara Haasan: ‘Respect Once Lost Is Hard to Regain’

Tanuj Virwani and Akshara Haasan were romantically involved for four years before going their separate ways. Their breakup followed the leak of Akshara’s private photos online, an event that left the two completely out of touch. Speaking candidly about their relationship, Tanuj shared the reason behind their estrangement, saying, “When respect in a relationship fades, and your partner doesn’t stand up for you when it’s needed the most, it’s hard to forget. I am able to forgive, but that does not mean that I will forget.
In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Tanuj discussed his views on maintaining friendships with exes. He revealed that while he has remained on good terms with many of his former partners, Akshara is an exception. In addition to being friends, several of my ex-partners also appreciate each other.But when you lose respect for someone, as I did with Akshara, there’s no need to remain friends. We’ve both moved on and are happy in our own lives.”
Tanuj clarified that their breakup wasn’t due to the leaked photos but rather how the situation was handled. He explained that in such circumstances, one can either trust their partner’s innocence or assume guilt. If someone believes in you, they should take a stand, which Akshara didn’t. Despite acknowledging that everyone has their own reasons, Tanuj admitted that this situation no longer holds much importance for him.
During the same interview, Tanuj shared how his wife, Tanya Jacob, expressed concern about his past with Akshara when they first started dating. He revealed that Tanya had asked questions regarding the incident, maybe out of curiosity or worry. Tanuj said he gave her the same honest explanation, and that was the end of the conversation.
Tanuj Virwani tied the knot with Tanya Jacob at a Christmas-themed wedding in Lonavala last December. Presently, the pair is anticipating their first child together.
