Sector 36 Trailer Out: Vikrant Massey Stuns as a Chilling Serial Killer in This Gripping Drama

The long-awaited trailer for Sector 36, featuring Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal, has finally dropped, surpassing expectations and generating significant buzz. Vikrant’s portrayal of a menacing serial killer is nothing short of riveting.

The trailer, now unveiled on Netflix India’s official page, introduces Vikrant Massey in a role unlike any he’s played before, as a sinister figure who keeps audiences on edge. Slated to premiere on Netflix on September 13, Sector 36 promises a thrilling ride.

In their Instagram post, Netflix India described the film as, “A gripping cat-and-mouse chase where Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal uncover unsettling truths. Inspired by real-life events, Sector 36 arrives on September 13.”

The trailer begins with Vikrant Massey in a police station as Deepak Dobriyal’s character, a relentless cop, arrives. The scene quickly shifts to a series of disturbing child abductions from slum areas, with Vikrant’s character luring them in before carrying out unspeakable crimes. Despite the police’s best efforts, the trail to catch the abductor runs cold. A menacing narrator introduces the scene by quoting Newton’s Third Law, which states that “there is an equal and opposite reaction to every action.”

As the trailer progresses, the police close in on Vikrant’s home, but he remains elusive, leaving no trace. During a tense interaction, he chillingly asks the inspector about his daughter, revealing that he, too, has a six-year-old back in his village. The tension escalates when Vikrant kidnaps the inspector’s daughter, plunging the police into a desperate race to save her. The trailer concludes with Vikrant being interrogated, eerily calm, asserting he will answer all questions. This spine-chilling narrative promises an intense and unforgettable viewing experience.

Reflecting on his role, Vikrant Massey shares that stepping into the shoes of Prem was a new challenge. It was difficult to play a multifaceted, dangerous killer who could fit in with society without being recognized, he said. He credits director Aditya Nimbalkar for creating a gritty and immersive world and hopes this collaboration with Netflix and Maddock Films will shed light on the importance of telling such stories.

Deepak Dobriyal, who plays the relentless investigator, speaks of his initial fascination with the film’s script, calling it an edge-of-the-seat thriller that exposes social inequalities and unchecked criminal behavior. “Inspired by real events, my character adds a sense of urgency to this gripping narrative of the hunter and the hunted,” Dobriyal said, thanking Netflix, Maddock Films, Jio Studios, and Nimbalkar for the opportunity.

Netflix also released a poster on Instagram along with the trailer, tagging it with the following: “A terrifying truth, a deadly chase, and unexplained disappearances.” Inspired by true events, this chilling criminal thriller stars Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal.Sector 36 premieres September 13, exclusively on Netflix.”

Drawing from real-life incidents, Sector 36 delves deep into the grim realities of crime and social disparity in India. It explores themes of power, violence, and injustice. Presented by Jio Studios and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Aditya Nimbalkar is making his feature film debut as director. With its gritty storyline, the film is poised to captivate audiences.
