Salman at risk of assassination for mending ties with Israel? Report says…

According to a media source, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman fears being assassinated for trying to mend relations with Israel.

The assassination of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman may result from Saudi Arabia’s attempts to mend its strained relations with Israel in the midst of the ongoing Gaza conflict. According to the American website Politico, Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler reportedly voiced fear of being assassinated for peace talks during his current efforts with US senators to normalize ties with Israel.

Politico claimed quoting sources that the Saudi monarch allegedly warned US Congress legislators that he is risking his life by spearheading a grand bargain with the US and Israel that includes normalizing relations between the two countries.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman even brought up Anwar Sadat, the Egyptian leader assassinated after striking a peace agreement with Israel, at one of his meetings with US Congress members. He also inquired about what the US was doing to shield Sadat, the source said. He even talked about the risks he would encounter in closing the deal and how he would defend the decision, which is sure to infuriate Arab nations who are already aligned against Israel because of the Gaza War.

Additionally, he voiced concern that he might lose support within his own country since “Saudis care very deeply” about Israel’s conflict in Palestine.

Politico quoted an individual with knowledge of the situation as saying, “The way he put it was, ‘Saudis care very deeply about this, and the streets throughout the Middle East I really care about this, and if I don’t take care of the most important matter, my position as the guardian of the Islamic sacred places won’t be secure. of justice in our region.”

The article claims that due to the significant dangers involved in a mega-deal with the US and Israel, the Saudi Crown Prince is deeply concerned about the fallout. The US-Saudi Arabia agreement has been primarily confidential and is still in the early stages of negotiation. The agreement might involve several US pledges to Saudi Arabia, including as security assurances, support for a civilian nuclear program, and financial investments in strategic sectors.
