A Delhi court has summoned popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathi in connection with the Rs 20 lakh defamation case filed by BJP leader Suresh Karamshi Nakhua. 

Nakhua claims that Rathi called him part of a “violent abusive troll” in a YouTube video titled “My Reply to Gody YouTubers, Elvish Yadav” The video, which has more than 24 million views and more than 2.3 million likes, has sparked controversy and legal action.

Claims of libel and defamation Nakhua’s complaint alleges that Rathi falsely accused him of being part of a gang of trolls hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. The lawsuit also accuses Rathi of frequent name-calling, online threats, and destroying the careers of fellow YouTubers. 

The impact of the controversial video The video in question was viewed and commented on extensively, further complicating the situation. Nakhua’s complaint highlights the viral nature of the video, noting that Rathi has 2.33 million subscribers on his YouTube channel and more than 2.6 million followers for his appearance on X. They say the impact of this extension is described in addition to the damages for the alleged damages.
