Vidya Balan’s performance as a pregnant woman won the film’s director Sujay Ghosh many awards, including Best Actress awards at many film festivals. This movie won 3 national awards that year for best story and screenplay.

And ‘Kahaani 2’, which came out in 2016 as a sequel to Kahaani, was not so impressive. Nayanthara was cast in the lead role in this film in Telugu and Tamil. But the film failed to live up to expectations and was a disappointment.
