The movie “Kalki 2898 AD” opens with the dialogue “Aswatthama Hatah Kunjarah” on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. After losing his entire army in a war, Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) rages on the battlefield with endless rage after alienating his father. Ashwatthama performs the brahmastra to Abhimanyu’s wife Uttara (Malavika Nair) as revenge for the Pandavas who killed their entire people to have no heir. This causes the baby in North’s womb to die. Knowing this, Shri Krishna Paramatma (face not visible) enters the battlefield. Ashwatthama attacks Krishna saying, “Come Krishna. I am the abandoned one, will you finish me too?” He immediately stepped aside and said: “Aswatthama, you are paying for your sin. You aimed an arrow at the fetus in the womb. So I curse you without death. What do you think this curse is?” Until the end of Kali Yuga, you will walk on the mountain slopes like this. Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan) created a new empire called “Kompleks” (city), taking all the resources of the country and occupying all the towns. The supreme army is giving hell to the people of Kashi City. The high army of the city of Kashi treats the refugees like vermin. But the superior army takes the fertile (infantile) girls from the complex and experiments on them. It’s called Project K. The formula given by Supreme Yaskin is injected into the uterus of fertile girls. The highest guideline is to collect the serum from the uterus of a girl who can carry it for at least 120 days. But no girl can wear this formula even for 100 days. But Sumathi ( Deepika Padukone ), who works in that complex, carefully carries it for 150 days without anyone knowing about it.
On the other hand, Bhairava (Prabhas) keeps the units (money given for the work) only after its completion when the reward (as the work is called) comes. Bhairava is a rogue warrior who works for the side that gives more units. Bhairava desires to get a million units and set up in the complex anyway. His car “Buzzy” helps him. But on the other hand, some people are fighting for tomorrow against the complex in the mysterious city of Shambhala. They believe that there will always be a mother who knows God. One day the complex army comes to know that Sumathi was pregnant for 150 days and tries to take the serum from her.
